Extremely satisfied

The Carnegie Foundation's Vredespaleis receives approximately 30,000 visitors from all over the world each year. These visitors range from tourists to international judges, and they even regularly host heads of state. Therefore, it is crucial to know who is being admitted to the building. This was one of the main reasons for equipping the Peace Palace with Oribi's GuestID system in June 2009.

"We are extremely satisfied with the GuestID and it completely meets our expectations," says Koos Kruizinga, head of security at the Vredespaleis. "We deal with visitors from all over the world, and therefore also with identity documents from all over the world. It's impossible to know what all these documents look like and what to look for. Last summer, we hosted 300 students from 86 countries. With the GuestID, we were able to check all their documents and ensure that we granted access to the correct students."

Attention to the scanning solution

The Vredespaleis certainly hasn't received enough attention for its new, advanced solution. "We've already had several visits from organizations interested in what they call the scanning solution. Of course, we're happy to let them have a look, because we're proud of our GuestID solution. We're certainly not secretive about it, as our visitors are thoroughly informed beforehand through reception signs and window stickers."
