Co-creation
The importance of co-creation emerged in the convergence of various areas of expertise. This sometimes proved challenging. Klaverweide-Lorteije: “We met with several key parties for LCL. This included the party responsible for the software used to register LCL visitors. And, of course, the partner for the palm reader; all of this had to be integrated into a single package. Simply connecting the software systems was a challenge in itself. We had many discussions with partners to establish these connections. There was also extensive consultation regarding the LCL Identifier test phase, with each party contributing its expertise in an equal manner.”
Ensuring Privacy
Intensive collaboration was also required to ensure the privacy of identity verification. Strackx: "The LCL Identifier includes two-factor authentication; this is currently the highest form of authentication in terms of security. Because it verifies something physical and biometric, privacy is guaranteed. A person is the bearer of the data themselves—the palm of their hand and a resulting code. Therefore, it is impossible to commit fraud." Klaverweide-Lorteije confirms this: "The software is configured in such a way that we can safeguard all privacy elements. Information is asymmetrically encrypted, so no one can simply gain access to it. Privacy-specific information is shielded."
