Henk de Kort receives Royal Commendation

OISTERWIJK - During a meeting on Sunday to mark the 45th anniversary of tennis club LTV in Haaren (NL), Mayor Hans Janssen presented a royal decoration to board member and driving force Henk de Kort.

De Kort has been a member of LTV's technical committee since 1994. In 1997, he also became chairman of this committee. He has always been vice-chairman of the tennis club but due to the frequent vacancy of the chairman's post he has regularly deputised as chairman of LTV Haaren. He is also the chairman of the sponsoring committee.

De Kort also co-organises all club championships.  For 17 years he has organised, among other things, the well-known Sylvester tournament, in which about 450 fanatical tennis players take part every year around Christmas . In 2019, he was co-responsible for the first Greater Oisterwijk Championship. In 2017, De Kort also chaired the committee involved in replacing the artificial grass tennis courts and he is involved in making the club more sustainable. He was co-responsible for the purchase of solar panels and LED lighting for the courts. In the past, De Kort was also involved in the organisation of all kinds of activities for the youth of Oisterwijk. From 1979 to 1985, he was a volunteer with the youth organisation Trappaf. There, he was involved in organising the children's and youth carnivals, among other things. De Kort was appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
